LA Calling

Direct Line- Skipping

There’s nothing better than a good old fashioned melting pot to rejuvenate the mind and body.

That’s why we’re always in a collaborating mood here at Jellygun with Matt Carter directing an online ad for Direct Line, written by the fine creatives at Saatchi and Saatchi.

A play on the skip ad culture has arisen over the past few years, and  the playful tone here invites you to watch a “skipping” ad rather than click away and skip the ad.

This comedic ad continues Direct Line’s partnership with Hollywood great Harvey Keitel, hearing him bark orders down a megaphone to a trio of tough looking goons, totally changing your preconceptions of what it takes to be a tough guy in this town.

BBH LA – Spotless Promo

For our next piece, a promo for the Canal+ black comedy Spotless, starring Brendan Coyle. For this Matt Carter took up the directing reigns for agency BBH in a simple but effective one take promo that starts like an episode of Downton Abbey and ends like a scene from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Delivering a monologue to the lens as he strides into an abandoned warehouse Coyle, channeling Nelson Clay, his mob boss character from the show, soon reveals his true intentions.
